I dont know what solution Broadvox will have for us that use DSL so we don't lose DSL when the number is transferred.
Thats not up to Broadvox to find a solution for you. Only one Bell company (Qwest, I believe) is going to allow DSL service on a dry pair (line without phone service). Others may follow, but how can Broadvox help when they have no control on how the phone comany determines how they sell their service. If your phone company will not sell you DSL on a dry pair, you'll have to find other means for a broadband connection.

From reading from others the Dish Network modem line won't work on the regular residential account, this should get addressed too.
Broadvox does not support using a modem over their service. In fact, no VoIP does, so why should they address this?

Re: Response

Well it would be nice if Broadvox could team up with like Covad to make arrangements for dry loop DSL with the ILECs bundled with Broadvox for example. I believe Covad is going to have their own VoIP product and who knows how that deal might be and quality.
And having a VoIP line being able to handle modem connection has been ask of from a quite a few. I believe here in the mid-atlantic if your lucky enough to be serviced by Phonom their VoIP product is capable of modem connections.

SBC is looking to offer Dry Pair of DSL. Well at least in Ohio. Also some Ohio customers have been told they're accounts maybe moved back to Ameritech and Ameritech.net instead of SBC and SBC yahoo.

I also own a company that can provide DRY DSL for people that are interested in it just for VoIP. personal email address: kyle@tnetc.com :)
