Vonage blows

I had EXCACTLY the same experience with Vonage. I have sent the ATA back and am not looking back.

Hmmm...

I wonder what is the problem. Do you now another Vonage subscriber? It would be interesting to see if you take there call switching center out of the equation(by calling another vonage user) if there is still a problem. Once you call another vonage subscriber, it's basically a point to point connection over the internet with only the ATA's involved.

Anyway I agree there tech support really needs improvement.

No, I don't know any other Vonage Subscribers.
I am the Guinea Pig among friends and family (luck me!).
So far they've refused to credit me for down time and poor quality of phone calls.
I shouldn't have to lower bandwidth to 30K to reduce choppy audio.
I still stand by my review for now.
If anyone knows of a VoIP service that doesn't require connection to a PC that's better compared to Vonage let me know. Otherwise it's back to the old POTS service.

Tech Support

Well id have to agree with you. Their service is ok. I think to compete they should probably lower their prices, but its ok. Their tech support and their customer support, well if you call at the wrong times you get a guy or girl in India who is trying to be over polite who doesn't know anything and you end up wanting to kill yourself after the whole process. It took me over a hour to cancel their service, but all the big providers lack in cs or ts compared to the ma and pa voip services.
