| unions? who cares Why is it that those who replied to the union statement sound like 13year olds themselves? Their statements sound like many who in the past I worked with who, whose jobs were union. Most of them should have at least a High School education but seems as though many of them forgot how to speak like an intelligent adult. Cannot say anything with out either swearing or making disparaging remarks to or about someone. Does if you read it kind of show the mentallity of those who so strongly support unions. Unions had their place and day in the sun but in most cases now have way out lived their usefullness and now only go to increase the cost of items that would otherwise be less costly. | |

| About Unions: My family member is studying to be a union leader/talking head. He throws temper tantrums at me because he and his wife think that I should:
1) Not pray or be a Christian of ANY type, and have tried to order me around about it.
2) He might be in the Ivy League, but his command of the English language and worse, his command of history, geography, culture, and political realities is embarrassing poor. He is very much a product of the piss poor education system. I, however, educated myself. I was put out on the street at 15 and I am a self made man. I studied on my own. I spent thousands of hours reading the English dictionaries, science books, looked at atlases for days on end, and dug in and read sociological articles and, finally, taught myself math (algebra/geometry) and politics from many angles.
3) As a young teen I have predicted things with uncanny skill but I don't think that it makes me a better person, it is just a gift. I predicted both Nixon and Clinton's Censures. I did so before, and just after their elections, respectively.
4) I have been in politics and I will leave it at that.
5) I have worked for our nation's government where security was a top issue.
6) I have worked and paid my own way through school, held many dangerous and hard jobs, and done volunteer work.
7) I started out as an adult, holding a real full time job as a 15 year old.
6) and on and on...
1) My dear old family member has hardly ever held a steady job unlike me, and never took one seriously. That person has disobeyed protocol and lots of other stuff where he/she *did* work.
2) He/she spent their youth managing to stay home, unlike me, but not making a difference when it was gravely needed. He/she had to be forcefully institutionalized when a lifetime crises arose, while I sought out help, and can admit that I need it unlike that person.
3) Unlike me, that person has a partner who gets her/him through school, doing her/his homework, studying with her/him, and pushing her/him. That partner more or less used influence to get her/him into the school. I, on the other hand literally starved through school, used outrageously unusual efforts to get the where-with-all to get start-up funding which I have paid mostly back, and worked all of the time in school, volunteering to help high school kids while he/she is out playing with rich friends.
4) That person lives like a somewhat wealthy person yet espouses to know what it is like to be poor. She/him have traveled around the world to exotic resorts. I have gone to impoverished barrios and given of myself.
5) There is more.
Her/him wants to be a union leader, I just want to work and invent things to make life better for the world.
Hmmm... Tells you a lot about character.
By the way, that person and their partner treat me as though I was a looser and a helpless invalid. Neither of them has ever really experienced really hard and dangerous work. My family member has been a gold digger and avoided any person who didn't come from big money. And that person thinks that it is ok and normal, but my marriage to a very poor immigrant is sick to her/him.
And that person is about to go into the union machine and lead. Sickening. I cannot talk about it around that person because that person will get as much as physical and has falsely called the authorities on me several times making up stories, sticking his nose where he had no business, as if he was of a better status. Luckily, the police could always tell that I was on the level, at least so far.
Oh yeah, cream rises to the top. Oh yeah, union leadership is usually honest. Oh yeah, unions are fair to their members and keep them up to snuff on world events and help them to be intelligent.
B U L L ! ! !
Union bosses and operations workers, most politicians, lawyers (such as SCO ones), judges, tax leaders, top executives especially CEOs/Presidents, many top science professionals, bean counters, finance and bank executives, large investors and on and on: They are the bottom feeders, they are the bottom of the toilet tank people. Why can I generalize? A half century working in a fairly large number of different jobs and many different real-life experiences, lots of reading, and only watching knowledge programming, not watching MTV like my family member does. I have done low end work for lawyers (they don't pay their bills, I will let you know, only about 1/3 of them do), worked with hazardous materials, worked in management in many different settings, been a real engineer in the high tech industry and more.
Bad people are attracted to the potentially most powerful, easiest, most lucrative positions. Those people are pin-heads, little in the way of real honest mindfulness. However, they do have savvy.
And so it goes in real life. Many of the union leadership and position holders come from a background of wealth, power, and elite education. Screw them.
THAT is why I don't like unions OR executives. They are all the same, IMHO. Crooks.
I respect the honest hard working Joe who doesn't use a union to baby feed him, but instead uses really hard work to earn a cold beer at night. Men like that usually get the greatest wives, wives who stay by them. I have a wife like that, not that I am saying anything.
So, once again, if you are a union brother and don't like what I say, then I say to you: OOOOHHH, I must have struck a cord of truth in you, and truth hurts, don't it?

| Does it really matter I've worked for two different kinds of Unions before. It doesn't matter what kind of union you have. Who cares anyway. I worked for a tool maker, they shipped my job over to Mexico. I worked for tech support, they outsource to India. So, Union workers....I can understand your aggressiveness but if you back your union so much and you think it's all worth it maybe we should not worry about who likes unions and who doesn't and maybe we should worry about keeping these jobs in the US. One of these days you'll get too. Before I moved here I had Earthlink Cable in the North Carolina area. You know, the TWC/Earthlink connection. It used to be fine when I called them. Now I call them.....F**kin' India....Then they get me over to TW if I need more help. There are other companies that have done it already. The Government needs to step in here somewhere. I've wrote my letters to save my job, what did you all American union members do? | |
