| Re: dynamic IP's Yes I can complain. Why you may ask, well, I was paying for Static IP's for the first 6 times my IP's changed. One thing you should be aware of is that when you are paying for a STATIC IP from WOW it is not a true STATIC IP. All IPs from WOW are DHCP assigned, true static means that your IP is DNS assigned. -- I hated going to weddings as a child, all of the aunts and grandmotherly types would come and poke me saying "You're Next". They quit years later when I started doing the same to them at funerals | |

| Re: dynamic IP's
Hey all, I just ordered WoW Internet for my home. Seems like a pretty good deal overall, compared to my 500k Sprint Broadband connection I currently use. I was pretty happy with Sprint but they raise their prices every few months, it's almost $60 a month at the moment. Just want to know if anybody has WoW in the Mount Prospect area/ IL and if they have any good/bad comments to share.
ThMatrix, I was wondering what was done regarding your Static IP issue? It doesn't make any sense to pay $10/month extra for a DHCP assigned IP address. I'm not sure I'm understanding your DNS comment because DNS only comes into play when you have some kind of domain name. Usually the way it works is that your ISP will give you an IP address and, provided your paying your bills on time, that IP address should be yours for life.

| there is no such thing as a DNS assigned IP address.A TRUE static IP means it will never change UNLESS there is network re-configuration then there is NOTHING they can do about it.WOW wants the computers on the customers end to be set to DHCP and not set static because of this reason. | |

| Bandwidth split among IP addresses?
If you request additional IP addresses, does the bandwidth you're paying for get split among each IP address, or does each one get the full advertised bandwidth?
If each gets the full bandwidth, do you need multiple cable modems, one for each computer? Or can you use a hub and a single cable modem?
