| Is it the wrong path? I had Dallas Internet service for years and DSL service for 1 1/2 years. Their DSL service has admittantly gotten very slow. I believe they oversold their service. It would often take Outlook as many as 5 tries to connect to their e-mail server and the DSL internet service slowed to twice modem speed. I now get, using the same test, 28 times modem speed. I went ATT cable modem for less money and it is consistantly about 3 times as fast as Verizon DSL with Dallas Internet as the IP. ATT sends and receives mail without fail so far as fast as it can be done..on one try. I would check your connecton speed at DSLREPORTS.COM or PCPITSTOP.COM. You will get different results at both due to testing procedures. At DSLREPORTS.COM you can see what you are getting verses others. I had a Dallas Intenet tech tell me they can't handle the traffic and if I went to 1500kbs DSL service from 768 that I would not see a difference. |
