I wonder what other features there will be. Like static ip's and server operations. I need something bad in my home for this. I have excellent Nextel coverage where I am. I would easily pay $75 per month for their service. | |

| IP addresses are likely to be private ones (i.e. 10.X). Nextel is also employing transparent firewalling to keep certain types of traffic from entering or leaving their network. Don't start salivating just yet. This is a web surfing, email checking product. No wireless provider in their right mind would let the typical DSLR/BBR power user on their network without a leash.

1 edit | If you read the tech docs the service will see burst speeds of 3mbps, bout the same as cable. Upload around 384 and low latency. Supposedly easy to deploy as well, with them just plugging the base station into their IP network. Woo hoo. I too cant wait untill they deploy it nationally.
It is also expected to cost around 40-50/month according to flarions estimate, however it looks like Nextel bumbed up that price. | |
