| reply to rdhw Re: [Security] Firewall on BEFW11S4 ?
Thanks RDHW.
I am aware of the protection offered by NAT. I was hoping for a little bit more by asking the question - your reply to which implied the answer already.

On the contrary, it has all the protection that any NAT router has: all unsolicited incoming connection attempts will be binned, except for the ones that you have explicitly port-forwarded. -- Robin Walker »homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/ for broadband troubleshooting tips |

Not any longer. The older firmware had a SPI firewall but it didn't work very well and was discontinued. |

| I was trying to help configure a BEFW11S4 802.11b router and I couldn't find the firewall settings in the firmware to check if it is enabled, and I couldn't locate any reference to it in the manual.
Does it actually have a firewall?
Thanks. -- Sony Internet 6M ADSL connection: 6Mbps down/625Kbps up |
