You can do that.
Windows should run the scan from the SP1 file even if it is a download. It changes the location of those files in the registry after you install it. |

I show that file in two locations:
C:\Windows\system32 C:\Windows\system32\dllcache
Each of those files are version 6.0.2800.1400.
Questions: Do those numbers square with the files on your system? (I'm assuming that you're running SP1)
If I choose to pull that file from another PC should I replace it in both locations?
Thanks

Does this only happen when writing to cd and you're using xp's built in program?? |

Yes, this error only occurs when I am writing to a CD using XP's built-in program. It is not actually doing the writing at the point of error, it is only creating the temporary file to be copied. As I previously stated, (check my third and fourth post) I am performing a function which I do every month to backup my "critical" files. Also, ironically, it happens within the Favorites folder which I am trying to copy.
I am currently waiting for my nephew to send me the file replacement.
Needless to say it is strange!!!
