| Spyware problems
I am trying to find the cause of a problem. I suspect it is spyware. I use McAfee antivirus, Norton Personal Firewall, CheckIT86 pop up blocker, and Ad-ware version 6. After the problem appeared, I switched from Nortons antivirus to McAfee, and added Ad-ware. I was also using Spybot S&D. What happens is I keep getting a pop up window, which usually displays an ad. I did have Free-pop up Killer but I uninstalled it. I also checked for any leftover files from it, but have not found any, such as regsvc32.exe. I contacted Symantec when I was using their antivirus, and they said that they do not scan for any form of spyware, even worms and Trojans. Thats when I switched to McAfee. |
