 "I see people" opt-out

Have re-read site FAQ etc. and was wondering if I'm missing it-is there a way I can elect NOT to show some items like where I live/if I'm online/current level to all that elect to see? I don't mean electing for ME not to see, but electing for ALL OTHERS not to see?

I think nearly everything on "My Page" is viewable! If you wanted to change your Location you could just put up to 12 characters in that space instead of your zip code, but that screws up "other users nearby" searches. So far, current level is not on "My Page"... All someone would have to do to determine if you're online is to attempt to send you an IM, or put you on their "watch list" Pretty much everything else is available to everyone who has I See People capability.

There have been several recent request for online "stealth" in new features that seem to be meeting "mixed" opinions.

Thanks for the quick reply!
Current level is not on your page, but is clear in your post, and I assume if I elected to-all the other information would be available too. Was wondering if I could elect any aspect not to show in post. Doesn't sound like there is. Since accumulation of levels is considered a positive "feature" by the site, is there a way to elect to opt out of this feature altogether?

I don't know... I seriously think not. I think I understand where you're coming from, but to allow anyone to "opt out" of displaying certain general information would actually defeat the functionality of the "I See People" feature for everyone else that uses it. The only info that I know of that you can "opt out" of is the display of your e-mail address... and the ability to "mask" your location.

Unless Justin has a complete turnaround change of heart... I think it's going to be this way for awhile.

A little confused here- guess I thought there was some way not to show categories such as levels etc. since some people seem to have it and some aren't showing, or is it just me?

The only thing I can think of to account for that is "short posts" not giving all the info. It does, at first glance, appear that you're getting several different ISP views though. Even at that, it appears that some of the posts should have been long enough to generate more user info displayed.
