it will depend on the OS you are using. As an Example Mac OS is (option 4)

Dollar sign is shift 4, Cent sign is option 4 on Mac OS

It means you should hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and press the - and then 155 on the numeric side of your keyboard. When you release the alt key you'll have a ¢.

Hiascii.zip 374 bytes
(Hiascii.txt)
If you ever need 'em, I'm attachign a text file with the rest of the high ascii codes.

ALTxxx where xxx is the code on this list will give you the specific character.

And, when you can't remember, there's always Character Map.

Just type charmap from the Run dialog.  :)

go to start>run, type CHARMAP.

the windows character map shows all characters available for a specified font, and will allow you to copy a character if you don't feel like learning the alt+# codes. after a while though, you'll learn them, at least the ones you use most often. characters such as ™ and ©, as well as º have been in my memory for years...

of course this tip is just for windows.

There's no hypen in it. In my original reply I was just indicating that you put them together. A bad idea I guess.

Hold the Alt key and while holding it, just type 155 for ¢. Alt0162 will work as well.

One more note: you must use the numeric pad to do this. The key codes from it are different from the ones on the row above the alpha keys on the keyboard. Just thought I'd mention that in case someone thought people were specifying the use of the number pad "just because".
