We have started to put together a FAQ on IPv6. We are going to "try" including information in it that will not change drastically before the IPv6 standard is finalized.
A link to the »IPv6 FAQ has been placed at the top of the forum.

| Nice, but still out of reach (hardware) for SOHO users like me.
But, I've got something in mind; if some routers have "hacked firmwares", could it be possible to build one with IPv6 support? Could be a great project. |

I would say only if you have a need for IPv6 at this point
I installed it and see absolutely no difference in performance, so it does no harm. -- Chilly likes it |

| I suppose you have to have web content that is IPv6 enabled before you will notice any difference ??
I watch this webcam in Amsterdam often the video stream is IPv6 enabled, streams at 918 Kb/sec sports full screen video in WMP9 and has stereo sound to boot.
Link to the webcam is here:
My question is, I am running windows ME is this protocol available for ME ???
edit: Remember, this is Amsterdam, Holland time is EDT + 6 hours, it is night there at this moment.

There's a nice picture of how IPv6 and IPv4 work with each other here:
»unfix.org/projects/ipv6/
The bottom of that page has useful links for programmers.
The Linksys WRT54G router supports IPv6 with custom firmware. Info in this thread:

A question with no answer yet is which ISP's serve IPv6 addresses by DHCP. |

| reply to Optimized I know IPv6 is takeing off a bit slow.Bigger companies are heading and makeing way faster than home isp's and what-not but I'd like to see some more action here....maybe sysadmins or security folks for companies...even home users who's isp offer IPv6 and those who use tunnleing to a IPv6 provider.
Maybe those irc server operaters who are strictly IPv6.Anything to help build this community.News even in advancements or just news keeping track of the overall progress would be nice.
With that,as KiwiRack stated.............^Bumpage^:D
Thank you.
I know some info in the FAQ's are outdated and I will dedicate more time to research newer FAQ ansers and entries. -- Live Free or Die!
