Frontier blocking port 69 stops Vonage

my vongage phone service stopped working after i moved it to a frontiernet.net DSL connection. apparently in order to get the firmware update the isp needs to leave port 69 unblocked. i had to bring the cisco ata adapter to a optonline.net connection in order for it to update. it updated the firmware immediately and my Vonage service started working immediately. I am now going to have get rid of the Frontier DSL service which is pretty damn slow anyway. The DSL is in Chelsea Cove Condominiums. I dont know if we can even get cable here. if anybody knows, please email me at patrick@pfreal.com

i spent an hour on hold with frontier. they continually denied blocking port 69. they claimed the only port they blocked is 25. they finally got back on the phone and admitted that they have blocked port 69.
