News groups will never go away. Unless you block ip traffic from those countries where RIAA and others have no teeth.

Rochester, NY		 Besides, there are still forum chatting going on in newsgroups today with all the binaries postings. Taking down newsgroups means down with all the news net forum chatter that has been going for years and years and years.
