Yes, I did indeed reboot the computer. The funny thing is that I can immeadiately delete the new one...the old printer...no go

 Is the old printer set as your "default" printer? If so, I'd recommend changing your "default" printer to your new printer, then try deleting the old printer. I remember this being a problem in Win 9X and W2K Professional, but haven't had the need to delete any printers in WinXP, so I don't know if that little glitch has been cleared or not.
