| Is the old printer set as your "default" printer? If so, I'd recommend changing your "default" printer to your new printer, then try deleting the old printer. I remember this being a problem in Win 9X and W2K Professional, but haven't had the need to delete any printers in WinXP, so I don't know if that little glitch has been cleared or not.
