Re: Need help with AVG 6.0 Free not updating

thanks dp....I'll give that a try.

Also, Thanks to Just Basics (so I can get new one if need be...we did record all the License info and save it). I helps to know that will work

Skipdawg, I did check the updates folder and there weren't a whole lot of them since I had only installed the program in June. It seemed to be updating fine as per the automatic settings and then Nov. 14 just got stuck. It's weird because it just kept trying to download an update but the date in the Virus defs stays the same at Nov 14. After downloading the manual update, it would then say the virus defs are up to date and none to retrieve but Nov 14 still sitting there.

I'm thinking I'll just uninstall/reinstall. What is annoying about it is that the user was seeing they are getting an update and thought everything was working just fine. (They didn't notice the Nov 14th date wasn't changing)

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

It sounds like he was getting the program updates okay (and is up to date) but not the current database, probably do to a corrupt version.avg file. The program is still using avg6.avi which is the DB from Nov 13, 2003. Moving the files I mentioned above should get everything back into sync with the latest DB.
