| Ping I have a question about a ping situation I just had. I was having problems pinging any of my game servers at what I have been normally pinging them at and I kinda noticed that my surfing pages was kinda slow. First I called Adelphia to ask if any work was being done in my area and the answer was no. Of course they put me through the normal tests and nothing showed wrong. I didn't tell them about the ping issue because I know they don't support problems with game. As long as u can get online and surf that's all that matters. He asked me when I started realizing this and I told him 2 days ago. He said if I still feel it is not as quick then use System Recover and go back a day or 2 before it started happening. I just did that today as my last resort and Bam I am now pinging my game server at what I was getting 5 days ago.
Here is my question
Is it something in my Computer that is causing my connection problems?.
I have been considering reformating, but wanted to waive out all other possibilities before hand. I jave run virus scans and nothing comes up. I use ZA Pro and it does block out alot of attempts. Is it possible that even with a Virus scan I am infected?. Is there some kind of infection that can cause Cable internet connection problems?.
Ping is not always my biggest concern. My 40% packet loss is what really pisses me off. Try playing with that much loss and see how agravated u get. I am trying to narrow it down the most I can. | |

| Re: Ping I would never actually recommend using AdaWare because it is a dirty little sucubus in it's own right, however, you may want to do a system check for any spyware/adware on your PC, that junk can cause all sorts of speed related issues on your PC itself. If when restoring back five days aleviated your issue, perhaps that was the case, but you can never be too sure.

I just don't recommend certain things, that being one of them. If you use it and like it, feel free, but one can never say that I told them to is all.

17,180 little critters are on my "do not f'with'me'sys list" now.
Runs like a Norton or McAfee antivirus in several respects.
