My work fiber connections.

Its a mix of a 250Mbps fiber link with AT&T and a 200Mbps fiber link with EverestKC.

I only have a 100Mbps nic in my desktop so i can't go faster than that. PRTG shows the speedtest going through the EverestKC link.

When i had my own desktop here, Speakeasy in Chicago was the only speedtest that i could get above 100Mbps but upload has always been slow. I will have to test out Springfield next time i bring in my pc. I remember this test going out our AT&T link.

FYI, our public ip's are from Verizon but not our data links.

my speed test is 50M down /20M up.

I hope this is the right place to ask this question. Is there any software to automate a speedtest like this? I pay for 50M but before there was a programming issue on the FIOS side and it went down to 12M until I called. I have Fios 50M/20M.

I want to test the line say 3 times a day, to make sure it doesnt go below 40M. Is what I am trying to do impossible? I am willing to pay for the app. if needed.

Thank U!

SHAREDBAND ROCKS
This is my home connection just outside of Seattle.

I bond
-Comcast on the first pipe
-FiOS 10Mbps on the 2nd pipe

Using a SharedBand technology I get data center grade redundancy and amazing throughput.

My total monthly cost is just over a hundred dollars!

That seems too good to be true..., yet your posting this as if you work for the company....

Not bad on the price per month but I don't get how they can afford this.

Wish I could use my cisco routers, because I would jump on that.

It is true, regarding the details of the speedtest.
I do NOT work for the company.
I do however personally know the principals/founders of SharedBand.com
I have been an early Beta tester since they came to the US.

I get 50 mbps symmetrical (50 mbps up, 50 mbps down) for 58 bucks. Lafayette La is like the first and maybe only (or handful) of cities to put their own fiber system up (city run), and their prices beat cox, att, and comcast/verizon if they are here.. they beat everyone. And since its city owned, its better than a T1 that only spans locally for some things. I was going to get 2 t1's for my opelousas office and lafayette, but its more efficient to get 50 mbps up/down.

Can somebody help me? My upload speed is really lagging. I'm not sure how to tweak this. Download speed is okay, but uploads are taking forever. Any help is greatly appreciated...

Another test...

This is on my ADSL connection to NYU.

Just kidding. Connected through GigE via one of the NYU dorms. All the kiddies have left for the summer, so more bandwidth for me, I suppose.

Internet is included in my monthly rent, which is $1800 / month for a mini-studio. Oh yes, and an additional $45k / year in tuition.

Whew, expensive...but that's a LOT of bandwidth

I used ot get 75-85 Mbpps symmetric over my school connection (100 Mbit ethernet off of an OC3 for the whole school) but recently speeds have dropped due to congestion. Hopefully they'll have their own fiber ring in by the end f the summer. Then we'll have gigabit, and eventually 10GE.

I'm off-campus at this point so most of the time I'm on WiFi, which still gives 10-20 Mbps symmetric depending on where you are on-campus.

Would I move back on-campus, doubling my rent, to get 100 Mbps up and down? Probably not, since the darned thing is firewalled. Then again, I've been able to push 2 MB/s down and up on torrents over WiFi
