»OK, Secret Santa is open for Business!!!
Two last minute generous contributions from members allowed for the purchase of "extra" items for the cause. The town hall gladly accepted them. Today, they called a neighboring larger town to offer all the surplus to them as they had provided gifts for everyone in town who asked for help.
The other town informed us that they desperately needed these gifts, they still had families who requested help and as of yet, had no sponsors. As a result these parents had nothing to give their children this year.
The last minute gifts from members here and others filled an entire minivan with toys, gift cards and jewelery for children who would have otherwise been forgotten this season.
As we speak they are contacting these parents and allowing them to come over and "shop" for the unwrapped gifts. They can bring them home, wrap them or hide them under a tree to surprise the kids. This allows them to choose appropriate gifts, things that were asked for or needed. It gives them a big boost through a very tough season for those without much money. These last minute donations helped save the day for many.
Thank you again for the help. I hope everyone has as happy of a holiday as our sponsored children will, thanks to you.
