1 edit | Video quality most importantly depends on the source. The encoder also plays a very crucial role in the final product.
However, if you encode two AVI files with the same exact settings, the one compressed with XviD will surpass the video compressed with DivX.
EDIT: Of course, DivX fanatics will beg to differ. Avoid them at all costs.  |

Only downside is you cant join them very easy. Vdub always throws up a fit when trying to mess with/join ogg format/VBR formatted audio.

Is that the same as VirtualDub MPEG2? thats what i got. i actually got about 8 different versions of VirtualDub sometimes the newer ones choke but an older one will do what im trying to do.
