...a phone number I can't find in the online reverse lookups, nor could my SNET rep who answered my 811 call last week.
Has anyone found out who owns 800-624-7619 ? |

| I noticed that when i do get calls from telemarketers they are not quite so pushy. If i tell them no they generally hang up. I don't know if this is coincedence but before they would try and badger me into something. Personally i hate spam, whether it be over the phone or in my inbox. Unless I specifically request something I don't want them bothering me. |

You actually listen long enough to see if they hang up? Why?
Politeness has no place when dealing with a$$holes that call you trying to sell something, particularly now that they are breaking the law to do it.
Just say "screw you" and hang up.
I am polite to Charity calls but NEVER give them anything, I don't want to encourage them calling people to beg for money. |

| The problem is the phone only rings twice and by the time I get to pick it up, they're gone.
This interruption, 1-2 times every day since October is really becoming seriously annoying. We are reaching the point where we ignore the phone now completely, and several times we ignored important calls.

SNET Can't Do Anything about Calls fro800-624-7619
After dozens of attempts at getting through the SNET/SBC's Annoyance Call Bureau, I was told that they cannot do anything about telemarketers because it's considered 'restraint of free trade'.
She said she could give me a free number change or refer me to the national do not call list and that is all.
My next step is to start with CT Attorney General, as CT has a law against auto dialers and I am convinced this is an autodialer that calls all hours of the day and night, and given we have an unlisted and unpublished number.
