4 edits | Re: santa monica Ca hdtv??? The plasma 16:9 screens are often set to "zoom" or "strech" non-HD content so the screen doesn't suffer "burn-in". This is the distortion you are seeing.
On non-HD content black bars on the sides are often visible when viewed with a 16:9. The black bars on a plasma screen don't suffer the same amount of wear that the lit portion of the screen does and after awhile the parts that are often black are noticably "brighter" in appearance.
