Adelphia Refer a Friend Program - What a joke

I have refered two family households to get the whole package (Internet and Cable TV), and according to adelphias corporate website ( »www.adelphiapowerpage.com/refer_a_friend.cfm ) and my local Adelphia's website ( »www.adelphiasocal.com/emform/emf···?form=20 ) I should had gotten two month free Powerlink.
Well, guess what! I have not.
I had called to asked them why I have not received credit, and they told me that they never had a program like that before. The customer service people that I have talked to had told me that they had not even heard of such thing.
Can you believe that crap.
Who should I talk to in order to get what they promise.

Power Link customers will receive on free month of Power
said by Adelphia website:
Link service for each referral that results in the successful installation of a new Power Link customer. All referrals must keep the service for at least 30 days for credit to apply.

Referrals must be submitted to Adelphia Power Link through the Refer A Friend Online Sign-up Form.

Referrals will be credited on the customer's monthly Adelphia cable bill within 30-60 days following the installation of the new Power Link customer.
Has it been 2 months since your friends signed up?

I referred my neighbor, he canceled the install then a month later he did the install and has been with power link for over a year. I can't get anyone that knows Chit from Shineola at Adelphia about the referral program. So guess what I'm out the referral fee! They said it is all done over the internet, and I have yet to find the web page able to understand my situation. Next time I will refer Frontier DSL in this area.

11.) The Refer A Friend program can be changed or discontinued at any time without advance notice. If the program is discontinued, for any reason, pending orders/referrals will be processed in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of the program.

This statement is very ambiguous.

I got 6 or 8 months free way back when PL first became available here.

Since early 2001 I have referred 5 and have 2 more pending. I did get credit for the 5 but you have to call the office and talk to them. For some reason the free month credit does not go through automatically.
You will have to give the name of the person and address that you referred at the time. It then takes a couple of months for it to show up on your bill.
Also the person that you referred must have the account in their name.
If it was their wife/husband or girlfriend/boyfriend you referred they must be the one holding the account for you to get the credit. I lost a couple because of that.
Just call Adelphia and be persistent.......good luck

@adelphia.net

I have contacted adelphia, local and head quater offices. The last one always refers me to the my local office, and the local office tells me that they never had anything like that before.
MacLeech, as my last resource I will try to use the webpage you ferred to in that link.
Actually, I am not even sure if I should persue this anymore. I get angry and discouraged when customer service people treat me like if I am trying to pull a scam on them.

I just called Adelphia customer service and went from there. I do not understand why they tell you the never heard of it. It is still a feature at their website.
I am sure the person whom you spoke with the first time may just have been misinformed or in a different department. Make sure you go to Powerlink support customer service.
When I called they looked up all that I referred and verified that they have kept their service past 30 day's.

I will give them a last call to see what they come up with this time.
