| reply to Bagnon Re: AMD Thunderbird 1.4. 200Mhz more?
You actually have to get a pair of small needle nose plyers and move a jumper pin.
Read page 20 of the user manual. I have revision 1.04 E776.
Page 19 allows you to change another jumper to go into Jumperfree mode (bios control over the FSB) -- Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Of course, they're entitled to be blithering idiots at the same time. What this country needs is a good five dollar plasma weapon.

| reply to Bagnon Well, after cleaning my HSF and the other fans my CPU temp has lowered to 41ºC idle. Good stuff. I also changed the fsb to see if I would gain a little extra performance but it was so miniscule and acting up I went back to my regular 1.55Ghz. The only reason I asked the question is because I'm noticing slowness in the new games and I don't like it. Time to upgrade! -- ----gg's and happy gaming---- |

1 edit | reply to Bagnon Based in my limited experience with T-Birds, you are already doing very well. I dont know if there is much more left for you...
I wonder if you meant the ram voltage is 3.3 volts?
What proc heatsink are you using, and what is the processor temp?
Your other option appears to be getting a T-bred proc, and going to work on that... |

| Hi guys, Right now I own a Epox 8K7A, Enermax 350w psu and AMD TBird 1.4. I'm running the cpu at 1575mhz and I want to get it at 1600 or more if I can safely. The multiplier is 11.5 the fsb is 137. The processor voltage is 3.3v and the core voltage is 1.75. I'm also going to clean the cpu die and re-apply some arctic 2. Please tell me the best values for each.
P.S. I'm also using Crucial memory 512MB DDR 2100 (2x256). What timings could I use to maximize performance?
Thanks, Tyler C. -- ----gg's and happy gaming---- |
