| URGENT - VPN Help
I have a VPN connection on my desktop, so that I can connect to work and remote control our servers and telnet to our AS/400 and RS/6000. This has been working great until now. I replaced my D-Link DI-604 router with a Netgear WGR614v2, so that I can have wireless in the house. I installed it last night and just now tried to use my VPN connection. It connects, but just sits at verifying user name and password. I know it is working on the other end, I called a co-worker and he was able to VPN using his comcast connection. I placed my desktop in the router's DMZ, but that didn't help. Need some quick expertise on this. |

| reply to SparksTSA OK... made a discovery
I set everything back to factory defaults and the VPN connection now works. Started making all my custom changes, one at a time, and trying VPN connection. The culprit: I had checked Disable SPI Firewall because my bandwidth tests were averaging around 930K instead of 2M+ that I was getting before with the D-Link DI-604. I had read that disabling the SPI firewall would speed things back up, and it did, at the cost of my VPN connection. Wonder why that is? |
