| Doesn't suprise me one bit
Luke warm interest? Why am I not suprised. I know a lot of people with cell phones, and none of them hold onto a crappy provider just to keep their number. Sure, it is a nice bonus for those people wanting to change and not lose their number. That is all it has been for me to be honest with you is a perk. This isn't some life or death benefit. I have about 90 people in my address book on my phone, and if I were to go to another provider, the new phone number isn't a problem to me.
Now, for the money these carriers are charging.
I don't know how accurate these charges are, but they seem a little extreme to me. It reminds me of the cable companies crying about the high cost of programming of the sports networks as to why they are raising prices. There is no hardcore proof. Same with all the cell phone companies crying about the costs. There are no checks and balances. The FCC isn't monitoring the cell phone companies on how much they are charging. They don't even know how much it costs to implement a system like this. Therefore, I have to conclude there is some abuse going on. How much remains to be seen. -- My Domain Nightfall's Hockey and Life Journal |
