At exactly what stage are these US federal antispam bills? [edit: answered here:»www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,a···7,00.asp ] Bills with different language have overwhelmingly passed both houses, is that right? Where's the text of those bills? If that's right, who's on the committee that irons out the differences? What's their contact info? It's not over 'till it's over.
Has someone compiled a list of the email addresses of all the congresscritters who voted for this?
In CA, the votes for SB 12 and SB 186 were almost exactly along party lines. (The main goal of the current legislation is to nullify SB 186, which actually would have had a long term, significant, positive impact on the problem.) |

I get about 5 spam/day, out of 300+ emails. that is about 295 of my customers emails/day, and 5 spam.
Oh well, stinks to be those who get crap loads.
On the other hand, I think their should be a special team, with gigabits upon gigabits of bandwidth. When a Spam relay is found, the special team nukes it -- Chris Allessi ExaltedHosting.com Host of AlbinoBlackSheep KazaaLite Mirror at 2 terrabytes/month |

| The only solution I can see for myself, would be the configuration of a "White-List" whereby ANY mail that is not from an 'approved' sender is not downloaded, or is deleted, upon receipt.
Each time my 'blocked-senders' list gets to an as yet determined critical size, it becomes corrupt, and I must remove the reg-key, and begin all over again.
An 'approved-senders' list would be much smaller, and better suited to the needs of home-use e-mail. -- "The process, is likely to be a long one, absent... a new Pearl Harbor." (1997) |

| Thanks. I'll check it out.
I know my provider's representatives have aggressively argued against a 'white-list', and instead have employed their own 'black-list', which ironically prevents me from receiving subscribed-to newsletters, but still allows my box to be stuffed with cr@p everyday!
