Providers do not want you to have WiFi enabled phones... What will happen is, customers will connect to free WiFi networks to browse or check the mail or send SMS vs. Paying Cellular providers for their 'internet' packages and/or usage minutes on the top of everything else. Just imagine a phone with a WiFi capability and ability to load some VoIP software on it... Next thing you know, people are placing phone calls through WiFi connection vs Mobile provider. Again, in my opinion, technology is there but Mobile providers do not want manufacturers to integrate features into the phones in fear of loosing money on their services. -- ..MISTAKE RECOGNIZED IS HALF CORRECTED.. |
