| Network down - So Cal 90025 (santa monica -W.L.A.)
Seems that the network is down for some users in the W.L.A - Sta. Monica areas. According to the tech rep, the router has some problems and therefore 25% of the clients connected to it are down. Nobody knows why... or when this will be fixed, but my connection has been down since Oct. 27th. THe zip code here is 90025... and I checked my connection and things seem to be fine around here (I'm an it manager so i know about wiring and stuff...) anyways, does anybody else has the same problem??? please respond via email: callback@hotmail.com

Thanks | |

| Well, as of this morning, I have a solid power light and a blinking "send" light on my SB5100, all others dark. I'm near the intersection of Barrington and Santa Monica.
When this last happened about a month ago it was almost assuredly a result of a local signal problem, perhaps even as local as my apt. building. I could tell because my TV signal was bad on the high channels. This time, however, the picture is fine. Last time it took about 2 days before we were back online.
I don't know if this is related to your problems in the same zipcode or not.

| Re: Now with me...
The local tech will show up tomorrow... and according to the support rep on the phone, the signal might have problems and it seems that there's no outages in the area (yeah right). Anyways, I'm not sure what's going on but I do know that THEY DON'T KNOW. Hopefully I will have a good connection tomorrow... if not, I will go back to DSL. It is slower... but stable and that's all I need.
Hope your connection gets fixed soon... call support and check how many days you have to wait... so far, I've waited for a week before...
good luck,

| Back up again, with the highest S/N ratio yet: 37 dB. Still at the 2MB down cap, though, not that I expected different...I wonder when they plan (or IF) on taking us up 'en masse.'
As for as your problem, Martin, I'd give a 90% hunch that same as my past problems, it has to do with something very local to you and not network-wide--on your block or just on your outside building wiring.
The annoying thing is when these incidents repeat--for me it's been about a month, and I hope it doesn't become a recurring thing. I wonder if we have 'cable gremlins' mucking things up.
