Consider the following: (excludes a large variety of internet taxes that could be created by cunning politicians)
Accounts Receivable Tax Building Permit Tax Capital Gains Tax CDL license Tax Cigarette Tax Corporate Income Tax Court Fines (indirect taxes) Dog License Tax Federal Income Tax Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA) Fishing License Tax Food License Tax Fuel permit tax Gasoline Tax (42 cents per gallon) Hunting License Tax Inheritance Tax Interest expense (tax on the money) Inventory tax IRS Interest Charges (tax on top of tax) IRS Penalties (tax on top of tax) Liquor Tax Local Income Tax Luxury Taxes Marriage License Tax Medicare Tax Property Tax Real Estate Tax Septic Permit Tax Service Charge Taxes Social Security Tax Road Usage Taxes (Truckers) Sales Taxes Recreational Vehicle Tax Road Toll Booth Taxes School Tax State Income Tax State Unemployment Tax (SUTA) Telephone federal excise tax Telephone federal universal service fee (indirect tax) Telephone federal, state and local surcharge taxes Telephone minimum usage surcharge tax Telephone recurring and nonrecurring charges tax Telephone State and local tax Telephone usage charge tax Toll Bridge Taxes Toll Tunnel Taxes Traffic Fines (indirect taxation) Trailer registration tax Utility Taxes Vehicle License Registration Tax Vehicle Sales Tax Watercraft registration Tax Well Permit Tax Workers Compensation Tax
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous in the world, had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. [text was edited by author 2003-10-28 13:12:22] |

Walmart probably thinks this is Cool as selling themselves as all American when they are a China junk store.
The Pringles I bought there didn't come from China.

| reply to Raydr said by Raydr : What they want to tax is sales made over the internet.
You buy something on eBay, you'll pay sales tax. You buy something on an online store, you'll pay sales tax.
etc.
Sadly I wish you were right.....
which imposes a federal ban on state and local taxes on Internet access services *and* certain Internet-based sales transactions
Internet access services like VOIP, this means that they can tax it as a telecom serice (like verizon) and then DOUBLE tax it for web access, not to mention the ADDITIONAL web sales tax!
WTF are these states trying to do here? Everyones verizon bill would go from 29.99 to 32 bucks for standard sales tax and maybe 37 after all of said taxes.
Cell phone bills already suffer for this. I pay city, county, and state tax on my cell. 39.99 = 47.95 per month here in maryland after taxes. -- I tie a rope around my penis and jump from a tree, don't you wanna grow up to be just like me!!!! |
