| Speed drop after utility work
I had the electric utility cut out four trees in the power lines behind my house and my cable wire is hanging a lot lower than it used to. I don't know if it got caught on a truck or if they took it down and put it back up but it has a big kink in it. My power level is 4 a signal to noise is 39. I tested my speeds and can't get over 1100 down and I used to get 2500-3000. Could the stretched cable or the kink in it cause this problem??? My television channels are all good. |

| reply to garyda2 You can't exactly stretch a cable line. That being said they probably pulled out any slack that was left in the cable. Usually they'll leave a loop or two next to the pull. If it has moved it's probably worth a tech call since it shouldn't cost you anything. On top of that if you're seeing a difference now it will probably only get worse over time. |
