| Using a router instead of Yahoo software...
We would like to use a wireless router to log into SBC-Yahoo DSL instead of using the software. Service should be turned on next week. What are the basic settings I should use for the router? Must the modem be configured to brdige mode?
thanks! |

| Set it to PPPoE (assuming you are dynamic account) youruserid@sbcglobal.net yourpassword Something like "Keep Alive: Redial 30" or less You can enter your Pacbell DNS from here: »Pacbell California DNS Servers if you have a place to do so, the DNS addresses don't have to be entered.
If you are getting a modem from SBC as part of the sign-up, it will be shipped bridged. Don't think it can be unbridged.
Edit: The special registration ID and password are here: »SBC DSL FAQ »How do I register a newly activated DSL line with SBC Yahoo? along with instructions for a manual (non-Yahoo software) registration. [text was edited by author 2003-10-10 01:28:02] |
