Yeah I am aware of this but I dont reccommend doing it. Adelphia has sent customers in PA an email telling us we will all be upgraded to 3000 down and 256 up at no cost increase. My old speed I was getting was 3000 down and 128 up but after you power cycle your modem it wll take a new config file that will cap you at 2000 down and 256 up. So if you liked getting your high down speed I dont reccommend powre cycling your modem because there is no reversing it. I wish adelphia would only keep their word and not tell us about a free enhancement of up to 3000 down when they infact know you cant get up to 3000 when they cap you at 2000. I agree the upoload is somewhat of an enhancement but all in all this is false advertising and a down grade in the service I use to have. I am getting ready to print up my email they sent me and file a complaint with the AG's office if this matter isnt cleared up by the 15th of the month as the email stated the upgrades would all be complete by then but I am not confident the download cap will be lifted because I see no reason that they would had needed to place the cap that wasnt there to begin with.

The speed issue will be cleared up in due time. As far as NOT recommending a reboot, whoever does not reboot and is some how missed by the automatic reboot, will pretty much be stuck in Limbo and most likely knocked offline forcing a call in to get it straightened out anyhow.
I would recommend a reboot, then check your speeds and document them, If it isnt straightened out by the email date, then call tech support to inquire about the provisioning.
Cut them a little slack, migration of 1 million customers is bound to have a few problems. |
