New customer: Slow speeds

I just got a new connection with SBC DSL. When I did the speed tests, Im only getting about 500-600kbsp download. My question is will the speeds improve after I've left my modem on for more than 10 days?

Re: New customer: Slow speeds

I'm having same problems Laith.. its not normal. I've been with pacbell/sbc for a couple years now and seem to be having slow connection as of late, as well as you described.

I used to get like 1100kbps, now the past month or so I've been getting 500-700. It's awful and I hope the SBC tech I'm speaking with on these forums can help me out.

Leaving the modem on or off will not make a difference. Hope this helps

IM one of the ASI techs here. Sounds like your dslam profile trained down. They have the tools to look at your line better then I.

Distance from your CO may be the cause of this. How far are you from your CO? »/prequal/distance

the only package doing the rampup is the up to packages. If your on the 384-1500/128 or higher, you are NOT on the rampup plan and you will not see an automatic speed improvement.

Try IMing one of the ASI techs on this board for help with your line.
