Re: Seeking P4 build list recommendations

I also recommend the P4P800 Deluxe. That's the new board that I just got, and I'm very happy with it. I'm running it with the P4 3.0. I ordered both from Newegg and was very happy.

Big case(you've been warned). But, leaves plenty of room for growth and easy to work in. It also has very easily accessible IEEE 1394 in the front panel along with 2 USB 2.0 ports. Antec 1080 AMG.

And the P4P800-Deluxe is my favourite board right now. Also, I've noticed they bundled Intervideo's DVD Creator (not sure of the title) with the board I recently purchased.

You've got Serial ATA options as well as tons of IDE options.

This is a good motherboard and setting up was a breeze. Also, it has a ton of PCI slots. So, any add-on cards will be easy to install.

Ahhhhhhhhhh very good question. That was the card that was in my old system. I barley got the wife to let me spend the money to build this system so I had to cut a corner or two. I am waiting for the 9900 to come out then I will have a card to match the rest of the machine:)

Gotta keep the "MAIN" machine happy so I can play with this one:)

If someone here (DSLR/BBR) can't help fix it, throw it away cause it's really broke!

I never heard of anyone who didnt edit there video's, its the one of the main reasons to put video on your pc, i sugest getting to Western digital raptor drives and run them in RAID 0, and you might want 1gb of RAM or more

Yes, I get most of my stuff from NewEgg. Only thing I did not get from them was my case and that is only because they were out at the time I ordered.

Heres a recent thread I started for my build. Covers alot of different components.

»Finished PC build list.......Please advise!

By the way, Newegg is great! I ordered Monday of this week, and received everything on Wednesday. Everything was packed really well and appeared to be in perfect condition.

Wanting to build a P4 HT 800 Mhz bus system, probably with Asus MB and Antec case.

System will be used for DVD burning of home movies from Digital camcorder via IEEE 1394 (mainly just transfer no heavy editing), Surfing, CD burning etc. Gaming is not important.

Want reliability and upgradeability in a reasonably economical system. May go with 2 hard drives one for Op sys and applications, one for storage.

Will probably order parts from new egg.

Any recommendations or recent build lists appreciated
