Re: NEW HOUSTON TIMEWARNER SPEEDS

Sounds like fun. Now, if only they could improve support, latency, and routing....

WooHoo!!

I thought my downloads had been going faster over the last couple of days.

I'm in Houston, on the Southwest Side of town.

Well, we are in the process of getting moved** (only 6 blocks - but about 1 1/2 mile in the car)
and have switched
from SprintFastConnect (dsl)
to Mindspring via Time Warner (cable).

Our latency has dropped from 113 with SFC to 40 or50 w/ cable. AND instead of 1300 -1400 downloads, we are getting around 3100. (With Tweaking yet to be done)

On the hole, I'm really appreciating the "broader broadband" of cable. (yeah, yeah, I know I still need to update my ISP review)
===
** We started moving in November and expect to complete it sometime in January or February - Roam wasn't built in a day

Don't worry... DSL is due for another comeback.

Be it ever so home, there's no place like Humble.
