Of course it's not clogged now, but it will be as the Kazaa and WinMX whores move in. Say, where do you live again...? -- ircd.removed.us - #dslr | oWn3d@removed.us |

Well, we are in the process of getting moved** (only 6 blocks - but about 1 1/2 mile in the car) and have switched from SprintFastConnect (dsl) to Mindspring via Time Warner (cable).
Our latency has dropped from 113 with SFC to 40 or50 w/ cable. AND instead of 1300 -1400 downloads, we are getting around 3100. (With Tweaking yet to be done)
On the hole, I'm really appreciating the "broader broadband" of cable. (yeah, yeah, I know I still need to update my ISP review) === ** We started moving in November and expect to complete it sometime in January or February - Roam wasn't built in a day

| reply to coolcat713 Phonoscope sucks. You have no bandwidth management with them... that means one user can pretty much whore the hell out of the node.
I'd rather have *gasp* RoadRuner. -- ircd.removed.us - #dslr | oWn3d@removed.us |

| reply to pharcide That is great news, and I am sure it is a welcome increase. I would be damn happy. Actually it looks like my DSL is going to get a bump in upload to finally match what you have. It is welcome to me. So a round of cheers for everyone, who doesn't like getting something for "nothing".
Not so sure why you feel it is necessary to pimp cable, it kind of cheapens the whole announcement, like spam. Interesting website BTW. But regardless of that happy days! |

| this has already launched for the humble area all timewarner customers meaning that you have broadband through: Roadrunner, Earthlink, AOL, or Stic.net are about to get 3megs down/384up thats 1 meg above the old 2meg/384up. This new speed is free and no extra charge just another reason to leave dsl and come to cable based service.
(just because you think your in the humble area you might not be considered to be by timewarner so don't be suprised if you dont' have the speed just yet) -- I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... I'm all out of bubble gum! |
