I Just got credited 29.95 for the slow speeds I was getting for the past 2 months. Im on the Standard Plus Package & from the day i installed it in July, I was getting dialup like speeds. Come to find out it was a bad modem. Since them I have a constant 1.3down/137/up. Well I made a call to SBC Billing & was credited the amount above. Just wanted to let everyone out there know that SBC cares about their customers. |

only me would have done this. ;P She'd even pay for a T1 line too, out of her pocket!! She's very nice. You should IM her and ask her for a T1 line. -- Help Find a Cure to Cancer :: Proud member of the SWBell DHCP club :: Disclaimer: I can't be held responsible for my humor. :: EIS, LLC |

| reply to joekingboy They do care... and after reading the Comcast forum (holy CRAP!) I can tell you that SBC is doing a fair job of things.
I'd like to personally thank SBC for the great service I've had. Although I've had a few issues SBC is pretty steady. They're also going to credit me over $100 for billing me month-to-month with the uber-plan. They should call it that instead of expert. That would be RAD.

| reply to Taoron LOL I cant believe I missed that one.. Oh and suuuure I can run you a T1 at no charge.. I just use the checks Taoron sends me every month to keep his DHCP (which by the way the last payment is late and your in danger of going PPPoE)
On a serious note.. Of course we care.. I have always said before if its a valid reason and the documentation is there.. the billing office will give you a credit.. (which is more than alot of companies do) Heres to happy campers!! |

| Yes, RT... Was: 6.0/384 5000 down 355 up* Now: 6.0/608 5000 down 520 up* {+ »chi.speakeasy.net oder »dfw.speakeasy.net +}
From what I've seen it appears they're doing expert or new plans initially. Although I'm very happy I recall seeing that RTs would be done "at a later date" and that was only a month ago. I was shocked it got done already.
Oh, and yes SBC cares. -- Ever met someone from Microsoft Q/A? ...EXACTLY! |

Seem you 6.0/384 folks are the lucky ones, regardless of CO or RT |

| reply to joekingboy I'm pretty satisfied with SBC myself. I've gone through FIVE 2Wire Home Portal 1000SW in the 10 months I've had SBC DSL. They've credited me with 2 months free service over this time, and have never been less than courteous and helpful. It's not their fault that 2Wire's modems are junk. BTW, I finally went to a Speedstream modem, no more 2Wire for me. [text was edited by author 2003-09-17 13:17:27] |

| Hehe don't get me started on price :P
They're paying $100/mo, I'm paying $80 so I should be next!!! ok, j/k...but seriously, I have to agree with you there, SBC has some quality people in tech support (we know a few of them here, but I'm sure there are many others out there we don't know about). |
