| Unused CPU I have participated in a couple. Most of the programs have a setting where the priority of the project can be set, with the default to be the least important. This means that anytime a demand is placed on the computer's CPU, the project lets anything and everything go to the processor first. There is no change in computer speed for anything a person wants to do. However when something like getting to a web page that you want to read happens (like this one right now) then the program again begins to utilize your computers CPU, as you read. Painless, non-intrusive, and a nice thing to be involved in.
I'm currently on team Starfire (SETI) which has moved to 6th place on the world club list.
