| I have played and beat both these games on the PS2 but yet im thinking im gonna have to pick it up for the xbox.
Vice City was either buggy or pushed the PS2 to the max. I can remember my PS2 making some loud noises when i was playing the game. The in game slowdowns and choppy graphics werent nothing to brag about either. Im thinking the xbox will handle this game with ease and might make it more enjoyable for me.

| Perhaps. I have yet to play VC on PS2 but have just unlocked Shoreside in GTA-3 and I'm loving the whole game. I wonder if Rockstar is planning to upgrade the graphics for the XBox version or just do a port with new controller mappings.

The PS2 played the first one no probs......i just experienced slowdown and blurriness on Vice City. IF you have a xbox i suggest you buy Vice City on that unless of course you get it for the PS2 for like $20 or something.

| Yeh, that's the issue. See I KNOW the combo disc on XBox will be $50, and I can get VC alone for PS2 for $25... so I'll stick with my PS2. Either way, this is good news.

It will probably look a lot like the PC version. I am guessing that they are going to port that one. Seeing as how the xbox can handle higher res images than the PS2. I doubt that there will be the amount of fog that there was in the PS2 version of GTA3 - and VC.

Exactly....to clarify more, it means the graphics have always been there but the PS2 couldnt handle it. The xbox should.

It's good to hear that the Rock* strangle-hold that $ony had will now be over, and that this combo disc will certainly signify that very well.
It will make getting an Xbox very attractive for me for this holiday season, particularly since I don't *own* either game on console (and PC is okay, but lacking).
Now if the Xbox version of GTA3/VC will be compatible for some of the PC MODS that have come out... whoo-hoo!

Ah, if that is the case I understand. Like I said before ps2's exclusive "gems" are slowly but surely becoming non-exclusive.

I hope they go with better sound and graphics than the PS2 versions. I can't stand opening up a new game and it has the same nasty jagged PS2 graphics due to the game developers being to lazy to fix things up between the ports of the games.
Prime example...Baldur's gate... Only 2 player multiplayer? Hellloo.... we dont need multitaps! We also have plenty of horsepower to handle four players. Look at D&D:Hereos. |
