Unfortunately for you, everybody else around the world does not feel the same way which is why Bluetooth is on its way out. I thought it was a rather useless technology myself.

Actually Bluetooth is used and has many applications then most people know about.

But of course, you couldn't see that here at BBR/DSLR from an array of manufacturers and various industries that don't disclose their technology used.

Edit: For clarification..

Why? I thought Bluetooth was shorter range and lower bandwidth...

That is true, but what the original poster does not understand is that WiFi and Bluetooth are not competing technologies. They have different applications entirely. WiFi is used strictly for networking machines like computers, handhelds, server, etc. and providing Internet connectivity to such machines. Bluetooth on the other hand is suited for things like cordless keyboards, mice and such.

Puuuuuuuuuuulease. bluetooth was dead years ago. max bandwidth (under optimal conditions) is about 1.1mbps. farther than 6 feet its about 500kbps. far too slow and short distance for networking. while it may be ok for cellphones or whatever.
