Supporting P2P?

In the North Carolina section, it lists several activities of internet users who would benefit from Road Runner Xtreme, including "sustained music file sharing". Is this an endorsement of sharing music over the internet? Surely they must realize that the vast majority of music sharing is done illegally.

The RIAA/MPAA have been wrong about almost everything recently, but they were right when stating that ISP's were generating huge revenues based on filesharing, while still denouncing it. What hypocrisy.

I wonder what Time Warner's music division has to say about the advertising...

Time Warner is making a fortune. On one hand they're ripping off artists and selling overpriced CD's, and on the other they are charging Xtreme(ly) high prices to download those CD's for free.

Maybe they have it figured out. You rarely here Road Runner mentioned in the file sharing forum when people are talking about what ISP's are sending in letters and turning over names.

umm that is because time warner owns a music company as well as a cable company. It'd be like you running an isp and a band at the same time. I don't think you'd be complaining to yourself about the fact the people are downloading music for free especially since it's a known fact that most people who download mp3's find out they like the band and end up being fans.

Shady Backroom Deals

Back in the day when the RIAA was setting their sights on Internet Webcasting - there was a closed door meeting between Time-Warner/AOL and the finest of the RIAA that basically allowed them to continue offering services such as "Internet Radio".

While taking a huge cut from the bottom line for themselves that would be needed to run such an operation, they succeeded in placing the brunt of what would later become stiff licensing fees on the hobbyist broadcaster.

He who has a mass media corporation, all the money, and the largest market share of Online Internet communities under their belt - makes all of the rules.

This scathing insight comes from one cornered, and miffed wolfoxxy...who still has to pay out his monthly blood money fee to keep his Internet Radio station online...

EDIT: Web browser mangled my post, sorry.
