| WP letter to the editor about Loudoun -- published
Hello all,
Well, it seems my ranting and raving hasn't fallen on deaf ears... the Washington Post picked up my letter to the editor about the broadband situation in loudoun county, and published in last Thursday's Loudoun Extra section.
You can read it here: For those of you in loudoun, I encourage you to send it, or something similar, to your local reps and "important people".
We've been dumped upon in this county for far too long, especially considering all the high-tech companies out here. Take a stand!!

For what it's worth, it seems the Economic Development committee in loudoun has gotten wind of my letter, too... i got a brief response today from someone there, regarding the letter I sent (see other recent thread by me in this forum)... he made mention of the WP letter.

| Bravo! I have lived in Cascades since 1995, desperate enough for broadband to have made do with a Direcway satellite connection for the past two years.
Adelphia called our HOA office recently and said that they will start rolling out PowerLink in August, but as you point out Adelphia has been handing out deadlines for years.
Along with some other folks I have been trying to get a Broadband over Powerline (BPL) trial going in Cascades. If I were a betting man I would say that we might actually get a small neighborhood-level trial going in the fall. I would love to have a third institutional choice next to our two non-choices of Verizon and Adelphia.

Nice letter. And I agree.
It is ashame that DC and it's surrounding areas have one of the most pathetic wire systems in the country when compared ot other cities. The system is ancient and barely supports dial-up--let alone anything remotely close to broadband. This applies both to the telecom system and cable.
