As with any overhaul though, it may be prudent to wait a bit and let the lab rats have their run with it first.

The build number is 5.0.2195.6717

Thanks for the heads-up Skip!

I think I will wait a few weeks, then slowly start rolling out on a few clients to test it, before complete rollout.

Just applied to a computer that had been giving me problems with new hardware installs (I was going to re-install the OS in the next few days to see if that would solve it), applied the service pack, re-tried the sound card driver installation and voila', we have sound!

Thanks for the link (I will let everyone know if any detrimental issues arise from the install).

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION. It comes bundled with the software.

Installed on 2 desktops (2k Pro) and 2 servers (non-DC, 2k Server) and no issues so far. Will not be able to test a DC install until the weekend (surprise!)

Spare laptop is testing now as well, remember the Cardbus hotfix post-SP3.

Looks like Q329170 will be part of SP4. That one causes shutdown problems for 3 of 4 workstations. I'll pass for now.
