Powershot A40 Conversion Lenses

Hey guys To all the A40 owners out there: Have you bought any of the conversion lenses? (Wide converter, tele conversion, and close-up) ... I was thinking about purchasing (one or all of them, not sure yet ) .... And was wondering how well this improves the capabilities of this camera?

Hi I have the TC lens on order from canon right now. I assume I will have it by next week. If there is anything you need ask me.

I actually ordered mine yesterday from a site I found through www.pricegrabber.com ... I also ordered the Wide Converter lense from newegg.com, they should both be arriving early next week!

I had a friend order mine straight through canon over the phone.

Damn canon doesn't take discovery credit card!

I would have gone through canon too, but I shopped around and found lower prices than available through canon (at least on their website, anyways).

Yeah, its the same lenses that go on the a40 and a70, only the adapter tube is different.

It is VERY nice, and the optics are clean! Cant wait to use it for a real reason. I bought it and have only fiddled with it...and I needed it last weekend at my friends university graduations, but did not have it.

Just picked up a set of +1,+2,+4 macro lenses too, I think im gonna use them more than im gonna use my teleconverter.

I'll be using the tele converter next weekend, hopefully, as well as the wide converter as well .. I'm going camping

Where did you get those macro lenses? I think I'd use those more than the tc and wc lenses as well, as I like taking close-up pics of various things ... I've seen the closeup lens on canon's site, but that's the only one.

is it a standard sort of fitting that goes onto the adapter?

i'm getting antsy... i can't wait to get these lenses

It should fit right onto the adapter. I have a +7 and +10 macro set from tiffen for my G2. They are really picky about depth of feild and how close you are to the object, but they do a really good job when used correctly.

If I were you, I would be using the teleconverter a LOT more than the macro set. I really need to go get that teleconverter for my G2....

I'm a TRAITOR!! (in some people's eyes) I traded my PS2 for an Xbox.
