 Spell Check for Opera

I recently discovered the wonders of Opera. Now I love it, but I miss the built in spell check I had with IE. I used IE Spell and it was great since it didn't run in the background and the only thing I needed it for was IE. I really don't want anything that constantly runs in the background just a small application I can install that will spell check and interface with Opera.

If anyone knows of any let me know.

Thanks.

I tried Google but came up empty.

A shameless bump.

Here are 2 to try. As-U-Type is not free but there is a 30 day trial. tinyspell is free. I just downloaded them both to try myself.

As-U-Tpe

tinypell

Those two applications would drive me nuts...beeping and checking on the fly. I want something like Hot Lingo for Mozilla. With Hot Lingo, after you finish typing your reply, you right click on the reply box and select spell check. That is the sort of spell checker I want for Mozilla. Only thing I don't like about Mozilla is no spell checker.

If you use PC that you can prepare text in Word, spell check it and then copy and paste.

I think we just have to hope and wait for future versions of opera to be released.

I have some custom menus and html redirects that use spellcheck.net to do simple spell checks.. They work good in reply boxes.. But, I haven't figured out how to use them in M2.

If ya want, I can post them..

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've added spellcheck.net to the hotlist bar so for time being it will work but I'd like to see the html redirects that would be interesting. Thanks

It worked like a charm once I got the directories put in correctly took me a while to figure out the syntax but once I had it then it works nicely.

Doesn't that spellchecker only work in mozilla mail? I never could get it to work in the browser. If you have a way or if I'm missing something, please let me know. The only think I miss about using Mozilla is the lack of spel chekin.

Right, It' works only with Mozilla mail witch does not include a spell checker in native interface.

I have that spell checker for Mozilla Mail, but I don't use the mail program. I far prefer OE as Mozilla mail has only 4 sizes of fonts to choose from. It is a not very good application. (I will be glad when the browser is separated from the rest). I wonder why Mozilla doesn't have any kind of spell checker for the browser.

I've often wondered that, and it's the only thing I dislike about Mozilla. I agree with you on the mail client. I use Poco for mail. I started out liking the mail program, but grew to really dislike it over about six months.
