 For Non-Windows XP Users!

For all you guys without a PPPoE dialer, you may utilize WinPOET from »www.finepoint.com
Thanks to Meteor Dive See Profile for the link.

WOOO! This should be put on top. Do you think AOL will be officially making a statement about this or do you think they will come out with a new version where there is no set up to be able to sign on without the software and be able to switch the content on an off?

Is there a way to get Winpoet free from somewhere(legally)?

Try verizon's website for winpoet or use the Linksys Router to handle the PPPOE login's. Works for me

If you want to utilize PPPoE, why not go over and install RASPPPOE?

Re: How to use PPPoE connection on AOL!

awesome! What does this mean for networking? Do I still need to use wingate (I have a hub) or should I just use ICS? Is there anyway to connect using the second computer?

Also since yesterday my MSL has not been working.... anyone else having this problem?

also, what about tweaks? Can the MTU now be raised to 1500?

No. Even on PPPoE, the Max you can hit is 1492. And for that matter, AOL MTU must set at 1400. Though it's 100 bytes from the Maximum, it doesn't hinder performance or speed much at all.

Sure, you could always play around with your RWIN. But, in general your tweaks should be the same as before.

Verizon doesn't seem to have it. Searched for it but found nothing. I don't have AOL DSL right now so I'm not in dire need of it.

If there's a need for PPPoE for Win9x/ME systems, just use RASPPPOE. Small and is freely distributed.
