heh none of this makes me feel very positive about my choice to order at&t cable modem. guys installing it saturday. im going to keep my verizon dsl and the cable for the first month to give the cable a try. my dsl just isnt fast enough, and im tired of dealing with verizons billing. however if i could get speakeasy here....i would in a heartbeat. but my choices are pretty much verizon and now at&t since they just became an option in my area. |

You may very well end up being very happy with your service. My son, who lives in Plano has no problems and his speeds are always been near the cap. And as I said, with Comcasts takeover, perhaps their technical support will improve. In my case, they would not even acknowledge that I had a problem even though many times my speed was below dial-up. I just finally came to the realization, that AT&T was not interested in my business. In fact, I dont ever remember dealing with a company, which has treated me with the total disregard as they have. Any other company would have been out of business a long time ago. Unfortunately, they have a captive customer base with few other alternatives. Sorry for my little rant

It's all luck of the draw. Sure, ATTBI support really doesn't seem to care 90% of the time, and they don't really keep you in the loop with what's going on, but you might get a decent hookup and never need to worry about it. Every provider on here has their horror stories, but you'll usually find a whole lot of people who are generally happy with what they have.
Cable's cheap and you can get it without a long term commitment or hefty set up fee (the only reasons I ever did), so it's a good thing that you're at least checking it out. |

The best way to check is to check the speeds in your zip for Attbi, although since you say it's fairly new, I'm not sure many people will have done tests. If there are some tests just try to hope they don't show bad uploads like these here.
»/archive/attbi···t=Search »/archive/attbi···t=Search »/archive/attbi···t=Search
Also, while the installer is still at your house, make him do a speed test here »dfw.speakeasy.net, if it's in the morning you won't know if your upload is bad because even then my speeds are ok during the morning hours, but later in the afternoon and evening is when the upstream gets get bad.
Either way, if it works it is definitely worth the price, anyone who knows my story knows that lol, great for 1 1/2 years, until now. If not for the fact I might be moving soon, I would switch, I have a few dsl providers willing to give me service, which MANY people just don't have that option. Good luck either way. -- #BearShare-Main Stats (IRC) |
