Friend of mine has a Performa...........b4 my mac time, so how can he hook it up to a new Hp Printer that is USB only.........he describes a port which he says "looks like Firewire".but obviously canno't be, I'm assuming its a Mac , non PC standard serial port, if so ,is there a Mac serial to USB adapter available????? |

I would just slap in a PCI card... you will be hard pressed to find a Serial to USB adapter anywhere. |

My Performa 475 died recently after ~9 years of valiant service. It is survived by a Personal LaserWriter 300 which is t*ts on a boar to my new Power Mac (Serial Killer) G4. Maybe your friend would like to trade printers?
